Project Censored of Pacifica Radio had two different guests on with two different ideas today. Kalle Lasn, founder of Adbusters Magazine, the  progenitor of the Occupy movements, has suggested having a Buy Nothing Day, which Adbusters has been recommending for 20 years now. Sarah Van Gelder of Yes Magazine talked about a slightly different approach being advocated by a working group of Occupy Oakland: they are promoting the idea that this is a good time to boycott the big retailers and support your local retailers, because they are part of the 99% too. So if you are going to go shopping today, support your local retailers. They really need your help.
